About Brocken Railway
A 1,000 mm narrow gauge steam line to the highest peak in northern Germany. The 1,141 m summit sits deep in the former East German border zone, so the line was closed to the public from 1961 to 1989. Reopened after reunification and now runs heritage steam trains. Part of the Harz Narrow Gauge Railway network.
