About Nariz del Diablo
The Devils Nose section of the Guayaquil to Quito line, called the most difficult railway in the world. The track zigzags down a near-vertical cliff face in switchbacks. Workers carved the ledges into solid rock more than a century ago. Train riders descend the steep gorge in a series of reverse moves.
