About TAZARA Railway
The great Uhuru Railway linking landlocked Zambia to the port of Dar es Salaam. Built with Chinese finance and tens of thousands of workers between 1970 and 1975. Gave Zambia a trade route that bypassed apartheid-era borders. One of the largest aid projects of the Cold War era.
