About Ffestiniog Railway
Runs the oldest surviving railway company in the world, founded in 1832. Built to carry slate from mountain quarries to the coast, later pioneering narrow gauge passenger services. Still uses distinctive Double Fairlie articulated steam locomotives. The Deviation loop spiral is a famous engineering highlight.
